Tae Yeong Kim came to violin making through work at an instrument company in Korea, which led him to Cremona for three years of training. He then worked in Brescia with Ioannis Apostolou, taking part in competitions and working alongside leading makers. He is now based in Seoul as a head repairer, specialising in restoration and bringing restoration techniques into the instruments he makes.
