Kwanghoon Choi
Kwanghoon Choi came to violin making from performance. He studied flute at Goyang High School of Arts and Pyeongtaek University and served as principal flutist of the National Military Symphony Orchestra in Korea, where an interest in how instruments are built led him to Cremona and the Istituto Stradivari. He now lives in New Jersey and works as a restorer at Main Violin, bringing a player’s ear and a restorer’s knowledge of old instruments to the violins he makes.
