Born in Korea in 1979, Dongpil Im graduated from the International Violin Making School of Cremona in 2007 under Lorenzo Marchi and took a further degree in 2008 with Silvio Levaggi. He has run his own workshop at Via Ettore Sacchi 12, Cremona, since 2010. His work has been recognised at national and international competitions, including a bronze medal in 2008 and a gold medal in 2010 at Pisogne, and top placements for his cellos in Mittenwald, Paris and Cremona.
